What is ISO 9001 Standard?

ISO 9001 is an international standard that outlines the requirements for your organisation's quality management systems.  You can use this standard to demonstrate to your customers that your organisation has the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet their requirements. The standard is relevant for all industry sectors.

Benefits of ISO 9001

Being Certified to ISO 9001 brings many benefits to your organisation:

  • Increase in efficiency, productivity and profit
  • More consistent quality products and services will be produced
  • Increased customer retention and loyalty
  • Mistakes in production will be reduced or minimised
  • Increased brand reputation
  • Suppliers and other external stakeholders may be more willing to work with you

Certification to ISO 9001

Your organisation can get certified to ISO 9001. This is conducted through audit by a Certification Body (CB). It is not a legal requirement to be certified to ISO 9001 though.

Once certified, your organisation will be continuously audited (typically annually) to check that you are continuing to meet the ISO 9001 standards.
